The Executive Juris Doctor (EJD) online law degree requires a bachelor’s degree or graduate school competition from a regionally or (DETC)-accredited institution in the United States.   Completion time for the EJD is usually three years.  The core curriculum may be centered around individual interest and career needs.  Examples would be:

    • Health Law
    • Law and Technology
    • Criminal Justice

The Juris Doctor (JD) online law degree is open to candidates in Massachusetts whom have successfully completed a bachelor’s degree in a regionally or Distance Education and Training Council (DETC)-accredited institution in the United States that is approved by the State Bar Association.  Completion time for the JD is precisely four years.  Focus is placed upon the student’s ability to analyze a client’s legal problems, research applicable laws, develop effective legal strategy, proper representation of clients in addition to understanding and upholding legal responsibilities.

The Juris Doctor (JD) online law degree would be required for anyone wishing to apply for the State Bar Exam in Massachusetts.  Upon passing the bar examination and meeting all other statutory requirements, graduates become eligible to practice law in Massachusetts.

The Executive Juris Doctor (EJD) online law degree would be the alternative for those wishing to elevate their knowledge of the law, without any intentions of actually become a practicing attorney in Massachusetts.
